Community Update – Stakeholder Meeting

As part of the stakeholder engagement process during the construction phase of the Sarimay Solar PV project, Voltalia organized a community meeting in line with EBRD requirements and its Stakeholder Engagement Plan.

The meeting served to:

  • Introduce Voltalia’s Community Liaison Officer (CLO)
  • Share updates on the project’s progress
  • Address local expectations, particularly around employment

Participants showed strong interest in job opportunities and actively inquired about available roles, the application process, and required qualifications. expressed strong interest in job opportunities and inquired about the recruitment process and required qualifications. In response, the EPC contractor shared direct contact details, and Voltalia introduced the Borealis platform for submitting questions or grievances.

The External Grievance Mechanism was also presented to ensure transparent communication as construction accelerates. Informational brochures with contact details were distributed.

Follow-up meetings were held with local Makhalla offices. No grievances or major concerns were reported.
